In response to my previous blog
Salaam Alaikum
Bismillah. First I want to apologize to anyone who took offense to my “blog” which has since been removed. Allah Alaam but after research I think the brother at the store didn’t say sheikh Maududi but rather Maulana and that is by my mistake and my repentance is between me and Allah so no further discussion is needed inshallah and I realize the severity both to myself and Haadi. Either way any name should be disregarded. Since admitting your mistake and admitting it in public is part of repentance the above serves as that inshallah and Allah loves those who repent.
The blog wallahi was not to demonize any individual person. An abbreviation of anyone’s name was not meant as disrespect but rather to downplay the importance of that individual in the hikmah I was trying to convey.
At times average events or pass by moments in my life impact me and as a way to vent them I use writing. My blog only had the intent to show how piety can be practiced in the business world and hikmah in the protection of our aqeedah.
Subhanallah when you read kitab at-tawhid it is amazing how many lessons are derived from a few sentences of a hadith or a short ayah by the sheikh.
In defense of the brother that owns the store and in light of only thinking good of our brothers let me derive the messages that I wanted to convey and the reader can do with them what they want.
1. Sometimes you can find really good deals at the bookstore. Shafi’s Risala for $20.
2. The business of selling for the sake of Allah and not the #1 reason for profit is more rewarding.
3. Sometimes, if you do something for the sake of Allah the people will hate you. If you do something to please the people you will gain the anger of Allah.
4. The barakah of children growing up around books
5. If you are going to have a place of business advertise for your cause then patronize them.
6. The extent one should go to ensure what they are selling is halal.
7. Fluoride is a poison not a teeth cleaner and we should understand the Quran is a book of guidance and how there were enemies to the believers there still are enemies in present day trying to harm you.
8. The importance and responsibility/trust of translating the Quran and the importance of reading a good translation to protect your aqeedah.
